The People's Palace & Opera House was never built
Mr. William Benson is now associated with similar institutions in Manchester, Nelson, and other plaças and pioneered the New Leigh Hippodrome Company to a successful issue. and who has been identified with this class of business for upwards of 25 years, has made arrangements for the appearance at the above Company’s New Palace Theatre. Wigan, of leading artistes in the profession.
Plans have already been approved, which were prepared by the well known Architects. Messrs. Heaton. Ralph, and Heaton, of Wigan, providing accommodation for upwards of 3.000 people, and will rank as one of the finest structures In the Town. The site is in Station-road, adjoining the Palatine Mineral Water Works
