Description

Contained in a cobbled yard, alongside the canal. WIth respect to the buildings those at the entry were originally stables. The stone built georgian building is probably contemporary with the opening of the canal in 1816 - and was used as a workshop - principally for canal operations rather than boats - The brick built worksop between the Office Block and Trencherfield Mill housed a small forge for producing bespoke ironwork for the canal. The other buildings so far as known were principally for storage.
