Description
Hope Chapel was formed as a result of the unpopularity of the minister of St. Paul's, the original Wigan Congregational church. and a new chapel was opened in 1818.
In 1889, this was replaced by a much more impressive building by George Heaton on a nearby site. This church and building lasted until 1973, when it was demolished, and the congregation reunited with St. Paul's.
