The house was originally a gardeners cottage dating back to 1780 and the property has been extended within the curtilage of the Grade II listed walls
Situated to the west side of the 3-sided moat around the original wooden Winstanley manor house which probably dated from the 13th or 14th century. It is about 100 yards to the east of Winstanley Hall.
