Description
The Hollies.
Built in the late 1850's by James Fairclough as his family home, James was a builder and architect with premises in King Street, Wigan.
On the death of James in 1877 the building was purchased and extended by Sir Thomas Ratcliffe Ellis.
The Hollies would subsequently be sold to the Sisters of Notre Dame for a prep school.
The building was demolished around the 1970's? and replaced by a housing development.
