Description

Earliest records of the building are in the 1841 Census when it was occupied by a man by the name of George Green, who was a Glazier. It was likely built earlier than this but we can't be sure of when exactly it was built.

The Brookes House which is in the same vicinity as number lord street number 2, was built in c1790 it could have been built closer to this time. Following on from this, John Leyland Mentions in his Memoires of Hindley, that Lord Street was the major road between Wigan and Manchester, meaning it's not out of the realm of possibility that it was built earlier as this part of Hindley would have been some of the first sections and most popular route in early Hindley history.
