Description

A Welsh Wesleyan congregation had been formed at Ashton in 1873 but it was only in 1886 that permission was given by the North Wales Wesleyan District Meeting for construction of a dedicated church. Three years after its completion in 1890 the building was enlarged by the addition of a schoolhouse on its south side. Known also as “Hermon”, the church was entirely rebuilt in 1906.

The attached postcard, which you may wish to add to the site, appears to date from shortly after the rebuilding of 1906.
