Description

The architects of the Library, which is situated in Market Street, Hindley, were Messrs. Worthington and Elgood, Manchester, and the builder, Mr. John Preston, of Wigan.

 It is designed in a Free-Elizabethan style and given to the people of Hindley by Nathaniel Eckersley, on the instruction of John Leyland upon his death.
