Description
Brooklands Mill was built in brick in 1893 on the south bank of the Bridgewater Canal. It is of five storeys with a water tower, engine house and chimney. The mill was powered by a 1,200 h.p. cross-compound steam engine supplied by J & E Wood of Bolton.
In 1953, the mill began spinning rayon, and in 1958 it became part of Combined English Mills. The mill closed in 1967.
