Buildings of Interest

Description

Likely built in the mid to late 19th Century (c1860) as it there seems to have been a structure on that plot since at least 1845 (as per the ordnance surveys from that time) though it can't be confirmed if that was the actual Ash cottage. It first shows up in the 1881 Hindley Directory and was owned by a man by the name of Mr. Samuel Aspinall, who was a chemist born in 1821.
