Memorial to the Thicknesse family

RALPH THICKNESSE, M.P. BORN AT BALTERLY STAFFORDSHIRE, 28 OCTOBER 1718. DIED AT WIGAN, 1790. BURIED AT WINDLESHAW ABBEY IN THIS COUNTY. 

RALPH THICKNESSE HIS ONLY SON, BORN AT WIGAN, 28 AUGUST 1768, MP FOR WIGAN. DIED 31 OCTOBER 1842. SARAH HIS WIFE, DAUGHTER OF JOHN WOODCOCK, OF NEWBURGH. MARRIED 19 DECEMBER 1798. DIED 31 OCTOBER 1802 

RALPH ANTHONY THICKNESS, ONLY SON OF RALPH THICKNESSE AND HIS WIFE SARAH, BORN AT BEECH HILL WIGAN, 8 JULY, 1800. MP FOR WIGAN. DIED 22 AUGUST 1854. MARY ANN HIS WIFE, DAUGHTER OF THOMAS WOODCOCK, OF NEWBURGH AND WIGAN. MARRIED 5 AUGUST 1828. DIED 27 AUGUST  1872. 

RALPH THICKNESSE, ONLY SON OF RALPH ANTHONY THICKNESSE AND MARY ANN HIS WIFE, BORN 15 APRIL 1833. DROWNED AT WINDERMERE 13 SEPTEMBER 1853. 

ELEANOR THICKNESSE, DAUGHTER OF RALPH ANTHONY THICKNESSE AND MARY ANN HIS WIFE, BORN 7 DECEMBER 1835. DIED UNMARRIED 30 MARCH 1853. 

ANNE THICKNESSE, DAUGHTER OF RALPH ANTHONY THICKNESSE AND MARY ANN HIS WIFE, BORN 3 JULY 1831.MARRIED 3 JULY 1855, AT WHHITEWELL NEAR CLITHEROE, FRANCIS HENRY COLDWELL, AFTERWARDS BISHOP OF LEICESTER, WHO TOOK THE NAME OF THICKNESSE. SHE DIED 29 SEPTEMBER 1886, AND WAS BURIED AT ST PETERS BRACKLEY, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE, LEAVING FIVE SONS AND TWO DAUGHTERS.
